Hyperhidrosis

What Is Hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes excessive sweating. This is most commonly a problem that occurs in the armpits, hands and feet. Botox treatment can be quite effective in reducing and even eliminating this problem. Botox works by blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands. When the sweat glands do not receive these signals, they do not produce sweat. These injections are typically administered in a series of small injections into the affected areas of the skin. The effects of the injections typically last for 3-6 months, after which the injections can be repeated as needed to maintain the desired level of sweat reduction.
